David and Emily’s Italian dream: their wedding at Nikis Resort in Umbria
When Emily and David contacted me from Melbourne to organise their wedding in Italy, they only knew one thing: they wanted a place with breathtaking views, surrounded by nature, able to host friends and family in a relaxed atmosphere for three days.
The search was not easy: I proposed several locations in Romagna, Marche and Umbria, until finding the perfect synthesis of scenic beauty, authenticity, and services.
In the end, the choice fell on Nikis Resort in Umbria — a restored medieval village, surrounded by hills, with glimpses opening onto meditative and romantic landscapes.

The Nikis Resort—with its centuries-old structures, its frescoed church, and its intimate spaces—proved to be the ideal place to celebrate Emily and David's wedding in Umbria in an authentic yet elegant setting.
Three days of celebration, intimacy and togetherness
One of the fundamental features Emily and David desired was to spend with their guests not just the wedding day, but a true “wedding weekend,” made of convivial moments, lightness, music and spontaneity. The idea was:
an informal welcome dinner with pizza under the stars
musical moments and aperitifs amid chats and laughter
the ceremony with views over the Umbrian hills
a pool party and final barbecue on the day of departure
So we planned a kind of family mini-festival: each moment designed to evoke emotion, but also to relax, because in a place this beautiful time stretches out and becomes even more precious. The Nikis Resort, with its spread-out spaces over 5 hectares immersed in nature, panoramic pools, privacy and serenity, made all this possible.
Floral design: a burst of colour by Beatrice Bonetti
One of Emily’s most fascinating decisions was the colour scheme: she wanted vibrant tones, ranging from yellow to fuchsia, to give energy and warmth, while maintaining harmony in the spaces. Beatrice Bonetti perfectly interpreted this desire, and arranged:
The bridal bouquet in bold hues (fuchsia, magenta, red, orange, purple)
The decoration of the bridal and celebrant areas with large, rich flower and fruit arrangements
The setting of the long table with flowers, fruit, and candles
The color harmonization between the decor and the party settings
Overall, the choice was for a vibrant and sophisticated palette, with warm saturated tones (red, orange, fuchsia) balanced by lighter, modern touches (blush pink, spotted white). The result was a strong yet balanced visual impact that conversed with the ancient stone of the village and the green of the hills, adding a contemporary, festive twist to Emily and David’s wedding at Nikis Resort.

Music, emotion and partying until dawn
The soundtrack of these three days played an essential role in making the experience engaging for everyone. Here’s how it was organised:
Sophisticated ceremony: with Archetti Duo (violin and cello) we created an elegant, refined atmosphere, able to underscore every moment with delicacy
Aperitif and entertainment: the Trio Italiano Show accompanied the aperitif, involving guests with classical and contemporary pieces
Dancing party: DJ Nejo pushed the rhythms late into the night, managing even to get the bride to dance, who is usually more reserved on the dance floor
The balance between softer moments (ceremony, aperitif) and energetic ones (party) extended the emotion and allowed Emily and David to live the wedding according to their own temperament.
Wedding in Umbria: why “getting married in Umbria” is a special choice — and what makes Nikis unique
Here are some points that emerge from Emily and David’s story and that can serve as inspiration for anyone dreaming of a wedding in Umbria or of marrying at Nikis Resort:
Scenic, signature landscapes — the resort is set on a natural terrace overlooking the Assino valley, with panoramic views between Umbria and Tuscany
Authenticity and medieval charm — historical buildings (fortress, church) restored while retaining their original materials and soul
Diffuse structure and privacy — guests can stay in various units of the village, creating an intimate and shared dimension
Integrated event services — in-house catering, décor, DJ, open bar, pizza night and BBQ are among the available services.
Relaxed atmosphere to celebrate calmly — it’s not just about one day, but about an extended experience with friends and family
In Emily and David’s case, these features joined with their wide availability and trust in me: they placed themselves completely in my hands, and together we built a story tailored to them. The result was a wedding at Nikis Resort rich in smiles, genuine emotions, and unforgettable moments.
