An Intimate Micro Wedding in Le Marche at Casa Preziosa

When Alex and Ashley reached out from Canada to plan their wedding, they had a very clear vision: an authentic, intimate and deeply personal celebration, surrounded by the people they loved most.

Their guest list included just 11 people, and they were looking for a setting that could offer privacy, beauty and a sense of togetherness. Rather than a traditional wedding venue, they wanted a place where they and their guests could slow down, spend time together and enjoy the Italian countryside.

Casa Preziosa proved to be the perfect setting for this kind of celebration: a welcoming villa surrounded by the rolling hills of Le Marche, with beautiful views, an outdoor pool and plenty of space to enjoy the days together.

Before moving on, if you haven't already, I invite you to read my guide to Destination Wedding in Italy: How to Plan an Authentic and Refined Experience and the complete guide to Getting Married in Italy and Why choose LE MARCHE for your destination wedding in Italy

Casa Preziosa: A Villa to Experience, Not Just a Wedding Venue

Nestled among the gentle hills of Le Marche, Casa Preziosa combines a rustic-chic atmosphere with the warmth of a private Italian home. Its peaceful setting, panoramic views and outdoor spaces made it particularly well suited to a celebration with such a small number of guests.

For Alex and Ashley, the villa was not simply the backdrop for their wedding day. It became part of the experience itself.

The couple and their guests were able to enjoy slow mornings, relaxed moments by the pool and time together surrounded by nature and the soft light of May. With only 11 people sharing the experience, there was no need to rush from one moment to the next: the days could unfold naturally, with plenty of time for conversation, laughter and simply being together.

A Meaningful Symbolic Ceremony in the Garden

Alex and Ashley chose a symbolic ceremony in the villa's garden, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

It was an emotional and heartfelt moment, filled with smiles, tears and meaningful words. The simplicity of the setting made the ceremony feel even more genuine and personal — exactly what they had envisioned for their wedding.

From the arrangement of the garden to the seating of the guests and the timing of the ceremony, every element was carefully coordinated so that the moment could unfold naturally and without distractions.

The result was a ceremony that felt intimate rather than formal, with the focus entirely on the couple and the people who had travelled to Italy to celebrate with them.

Attention to Detail and the Perfect Atmosphere

Even when a wedding has only a handful of guests, every detail contributes to the overall experience.

For Alex and Ashley, the planning included:

  1. Hair and make-up for the bride and guests.

  2. Floral design, with delicate and romantic arrangements in natural tones.

  3. Lighting and décor, designed to create a warm and intimate atmosphere.

  4. A private chef, for a bespoke and high-quality dinner.

  5. Transfers and logistics, ensuring comfort and smooth transportation for the guests.

  6. Stationery, including menus, welcome signs and place cards, created together with the graphic designer.

For a couple travelling from Canada, some of these details can be difficult to navigate from abroad. How do you organise transfers? Which local professionals can you trust? What kind of lighting works best for an evening dinner outdoors?

These are the practical decisions that happen behind the scenes, allowing the couple to arrive in Italy with a clear plan and simply enjoy their time with their guests.

The welcome aperitif, featuring traditional flavours from Le Marche, was followed by a candlelit dinner by the pool: an evening centred around good food, conversation and the simple pleasure of being together.

A Candlelit Dinner Inspired by the Flavours of Le Marche

Food was an important part of the experience Alex and Ashley wanted to create for their guests.

The evening began with a welcome aperitif featuring local products and flavours from Le Marche, before continuing with a private dinner in the villa's outdoor spaces.

As the light faded and the candles began to glow, the atmosphere became increasingly intimate. The setting, the food and the company came together naturally, creating one of those moments that do not need to be overly elaborate to be memorable.

For an international couple, incorporating local food and traditions into the wedding is also a way of experiencing Italy through all the senses — and of sharing that experience with the people who travelled so far to be there.

A Wedding Designed Around the Guest Experience

With only 11 guests, Alex and Ashley were able to create a celebration where everyone felt genuinely involved.

There was time to talk, eat together, relax and enjoy the setting without the pressure of a tightly packed schedule. Every choice could be made with the people attending the wedding in mind: from the accommodation and transfers to the dinner, the ceremony and the overall pace of the days.

This is one of the things I love most about intimate celebrations. With fewer guests, it becomes possible to focus deeply on the quality of the experience rather than simply on the number of elements included.

A smaller guest list can create space for more meaningful moments — and for a wedding that feels truly personal to the couple.

The Details That Made Their Celebration Personal

Alex and Ashley's wedding was intentionally understated. Rather than filling the day with countless elements, the focus was on creating the right atmosphere and choosing details that felt consistent with who they were.

The natural surroundings of Casa Preziosa became part of the design, while soft floral arrangements, candlelight and carefully selected details added warmth without overwhelming the setting.

Nothing needed to compete with the landscape or with the emotions of the day.

The result was elegant, relaxed and authentic — a celebration that felt connected to its surroundings and, above all, to the people at its centre.

The memories captured: Martina Boggian’s eye

Every precious moment was beautifully captured by Martina Boggian, a trusted photographer with a gift for storytelling through images. Her photos tell the story of this micro wedding in Le Marche — the glances, the gestures, the laughter, and all those delicate details that define a day like this.

Behind every detail lies the quiet work of someone who knows the region, the best local suppliers, and how to capture the essence of the place. For couples choosing a destination wedding in Le Marche, that local connection is what turns an event into an authentic and unforgettable experience.

When the Plan B Becomes Part of the Magic

On the wedding day, the weather decided to change our plans. The dinner we had envisioned outdoors was no longer possible, but that did not mean giving up on the atmosphere we had created for Alex and Ashley. We moved the dinner indoors and quickly reimagined the setup, transforming the villa’s interiors into a warm and intimate setting illuminated by candlelight. The result may have been even more special than the original plan: because a good Plan B should never feel like a compromise, but simply like another way of experiencing the same moment.

The Value of Having a Local Wedding Planner in Le Marche

For a couple planning their wedding from abroad, having a local wedding planner in Le Marche means much more than finding and coordinating a team of vendors. It means having someone who knows the area, understands which professionals to involve, can manage communication and logistics, and, most importantly, can be there when quick decisions need to be made. For Alex and Ashley, this meant being able to handle a last-minute change calmly and seamlessly, while they remained free to focus on the people and moments that mattered most.

A Micro Wedding in Le Marche Can Become a Truly Authentic Italian Experience

Alex and Ashley’s wedding is a beautiful example of how having fewer guests does not necessarily mean having a simpler or less meaningful celebration. Having only their closest people around them allowed them to place greater emphasis on the quality of the experience, the setting, the food, the atmosphere and the thoughtful details that made those days truly personal. A micro wedding in Le Marche can become so much more than a wedding day: it can turn into an authentic Italian experience, enjoyed at a slower pace and shared with the people you love.
