Micro wedding in Italy at Tenuta Bagni de’ Consoli: a bespoke experience from abroad

When Max and Alexander, a lovely and gorgeous Canadian couple, first reached out to me, they had already booked their venue for their micro wedding in Italy.
There was just one detail.
They believed it was in Tuscany.
They had never been to Italy before, and they were not planning to visit before the wedding.
And yet, from the very beginning, they chose to trust me completely.
Planning a destination wedding in Italy from abroad
Planning a destination wedding in Italy without ever visiting the country can feel overwhelming.
When I explained that Tenuta Bagni de’ Consoli is actually located in Romagna, not Tuscany, their first reaction was concern.
Which is completely natural.
When you are planning to get married in Italy from overseas, every detail feels crucial — especially the location.
My role, in that moment, was not just to inform, but to guide.
I helped them understand:
the character and atmosphere of the area
the true potential of the villa
how the spaces could be used throughout the wedding day
what solutions we could design for every scenario
Step by step, uncertainty turned into clarity.
A fully remote bespoke wedding in Italy
Max and Alexander planned their entire wedding from abroad.
no venue visit
no tasting
no in-person meetings
Everything was built remotely.
During my site visit, I created a complete visual and practical overview for them:
detailed video walkthroughs
updated photos of every space
explanations of logistics and flow
real-life scenarios for ceremony, aperitivo, and dinner
This allowed them to make informed decisions with confidence.
This is what a bespoke wedding in Italy truly means: not just customization, but trust, clarity, and thoughtful guidance.
Why a solid backup plan matters (even for a micro wedding)
Even though their wedding was intimate, with around 40 guests, the level of planning was anything but simple.
One of the most important aspects we focused on was the backup plan.
Private villas like Tenuta Bagni de’ Consoli are incredibly charming, but they require careful planning when it comes to weather.
And in this case, that made all the difference.
Because on the wedding day, in early October, the weather was unexpectedly:
cold
cloudy
unstable
When plans change, but the experience remains
The original plan was to hold the ceremony outdoors, on the villa’s iconic staircase — the very reason they chose this property.
That part did not happen.
But the emotion did.
We redesigned the ceremony in an indoor space, typically used as a backup area for the aperitivo.
It became:
more intimate
more personal
deeply meaningful
The aperitivo was partially held outdoors, adapting to the conditions.Dinner took place as originally planned, next to the long indoor pool.
The flow changed, but the experience remained seamless.
An intimate and refined atmosphere
Despite the weather, the overall feeling of the wedding was exactly what they had envisioned.
The long imperial table, set alongside the indoor pool, featured:
gold flatware
a soft, neutral base palette
vibrant floral arrangements adding depth and contrast
a balance between elegance and natural simplicity
The result was a wedding that felt:
intimate, yet curated
understated, yet refined
emotional, yet effortless
Why choose a micro wedding in Italy in a private villa
This experience reflects why so many international couples are drawn to a micro wedding in Italy.
Especially in a private villa setting, it allows you to:
spend real time with your guests
create a multi-day experience
enjoy privacy and authenticity
design a destination wedding in Italy that feels truly yours
A thoughtful note if you are planning from abroad
If you are considering getting married in Italy without visiting beforehand, this is something to keep in mind:
What truly makes the difference is not just the location, but how it is planned.
Having someone on-site who can:
evaluate the venue realistically
anticipate challenges
guide you through decisions
represent your vision locally
…is what allows everything to come together naturally.
