Getting married at Conventino Gradara, Le Marche, Italy

Organizing Marc and Kayleigh’s wedding at the Conventino di Gradara was a wonderful journey — one filled with trust, enthusiasm, and a deep connection to this territory. A Scottish couple who know the Marche and Romagna regions very well: they have been choosing Cattolica for their summer holidays for years, and when they decided to get married in Italy, this area immediately came to mind, a place that is incredibly special to them — and to me, since I live and work here as a Wedding Planner in the Marche. It was a natural, spontaneous process, and from the very first meeting a sincere connection was created, making the entire planning experience smooth and enjoyable.

The choice of location: love at first sight for the Conventino di Gradara

Marc and Kayleigh contacted me last year, asking for support in the search for the perfect venue and all their wedding suppliers. We visited three different locations, all beautiful, but when we arrived at the Conventino di Gradara something became immediately clear: this was their venue. They instantly fell in love with its intimate atmosphere, panoramic view, and the perfect balance of elegance and authenticity. It’s a place I’m deeply connected to as well, as it is where I personally got married.

Telling their story, showing them the spaces, and seeing everything through their eyes was emotional and made the experience even more special.

A destination wedding in the village of Gradara: three days of celebration

Coming from Scotland, Marc and Kayleigh wanted to experience not just the wedding day, but an entire Italian-style celebration together with their guests. They booked all the rooms at the Conventino and the accommodations connected to it within the village of Gradara, turning the borgo into a warm, welcoming retreat for families and the bridal party. This allowed everyone to share every moment — from breakfast to getting ready — creating an atmosphere filled with harmony and closeness. For many of them, it was their first time visiting the Marche region, and they were immediately charmed by its authenticity and beauty.

The night before: dinner in the village with a view

The day of their arrival was dedicated to an informal yet enchanting dinner on a terrace overlooking the village of Gradara. A menu filled with traditional dishes from the Marche and Romagna regions welcomed the guests, giving them a true taste of local flavours. It was the perfect moment to break the ice, connect with one another, and enjoy a relaxed evening before the big day. The evening light, the gentle breeze, and the aromas of regional cuisine made everything feel even more magical.

The day after the Conventino wedding: pool party & pizza

To conclude the celebrations, the day after the wedding we organized a pool party at the Conventino with pizza — the perfect way to relax, have fun, and enjoy more time together after an emotionally rich weekend. Between laughter, music, and swimming, guests were able to fully appreciate the beauty of the venue in a more informal setting. It’s always wonderful to see how this “day after” moment extends the festive atmosphere and gives everyone an even more complete memory of the experience.

Marc & Kayleigh’s wedding at the Conventino di Gradara: warm tones, live music, and a dreamlike sunset

Marc and Kayleigh’s wedding in the Marche was both elegant and authentic. The chosen palette — warm, almost autumnal tones — blended beautifully with the atmosphere of the Conventino. Every detail was designed to enhance the spaces and create a natural, welcoming, and deeply personal setting. The afternoon light wrapped everything in a soft glow, turning the landscape into a scene that looked as if it came straight out of a painting.

Floral design by Laura Vannucci

Floral designer Laura Vannucci created a refined, natural, and embracing floral project: bouquets and arrangements that looked as though they had grown directly from the landscape, perfectly in tune with the venue’s warm colours. The soft textures and organic shapes brought a sense of harmony to every corner. The couple immediately fell in love with Laura’s style, and she captured their vision perfectly.

Music between folklore and delicacy

For the aperitivo, Marc and Kayleigh chose Swingarella, a Marche-based group with a strong folkloric identity — the right rhythm to bring energy, authenticity, and personality to the cocktail hour. Their performance engaged guests from the very first moments, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.

For their civil ceremony — legally valid in England — they selected the delicate sound of Ban Ensemble, who accompanied the pre-ceremony welcome drink and every moment of the service with harp, violin, and flute. The harmony of the instruments made the ceremony even more emotional and deeply romantic.

The magic in Frank & Marilia’s photos

The entire day was beautifully captured by Frank & Marilia, a guarantee for couples who want authentic, luminous, and emotion-filled images. Their discreet yet attentive presence made it possible to capture spontaneous expressions, intimate gestures, and the magic of every detail. They brought out the best of the venue and the couple with a storytelling style that suits destination weddings perfectly. All the photos featured in this post were taken by this incredible photography duo.

Lights and atmosphere by Green Garden Luminarie

Adding even more magic to the atmosphere were the lighting installations by Green Garden Luminarie, which transformed the Conventino into a true dreamlike setting. A starry sky suspended above the bare tables created an intimate and enveloping effect, while the hanging lights in the trees framed the cake-cutting area with romantic, scenic charm. Delicate fairy lights hidden among the bushes slowly came to life as the sun went down. At sunset and then in the darkness of the evening, the result was simply breathtaking — a view the couple and their guests will never forget.

A perfect atmosphere

The entire day was flawless: ideal temperature, extraordinary light, and a spectacular sunset that embraced the couple during their photo session. The bridesmaids, all dressed alike, contributed to beautiful and emotional moments, adding elegance and complicity. It was one of those days where everything flows exactly as it should, with a natural balance that is hard to forget.
